This test was done by the Cardiologist because of his suspicion the leg arteries were not atherosclerotic. It consisted of sending a blood specimen to the University of California at Berkeley where several parameters affecting the heart are evaluated. The result was favorable for Pearl, indicating she had no evidence of heart disease. Her arteries were clear, so leg artery blockages were assessed by the Cardiologist to be due to GCA type arteritic inflammation, not atherosclerosis.
