Abstracts of published medical journal articles can be found on the internet but few sites provide full text articles without a fee of $20 or more. Hospital medical libraries receive some medical journal publications regularly for viewing by hospital staff – these articles can be copied. Doctors on the staff of hospitals large enough to have a medical library generally can order full texts of articles not available in the library at no cost. We had access to a doctor who ordered articles we needed – I copied articles found in the library archives or shelves. I accumulated a file of about 350 abstracts - many full text articles have been obtained. Most involve GCA/PMR. I indexed them by topic, such as Chest and Legs, Cranium, GCA, Neurol, PMR, Systemic and Treatment. Specific topics of interest also are indexed, such as Adrenal Glands, ACT – Alpha-1-Antichymotrypsin Reactant, Aortic Aneurysms/Heart Disease, Chlamydia Pneumoniae, Duration and Outcomes of GCA/PMR, Osteoporosis/Bisphosphonates, Peripheral Arterial Disease – PAD, Peripheral Arteritis – GCA, Progesterone Therapy, Pseudoephedrine – Allegra-D, Shoulder Tears/Muscular myopathy, Statins, Steroid-Sparing.
